Kimono Rental During Autumn Foliage Season in Kyoto

Be Cautious as Private Car Parking May Not Be Available

Access to Kiyomizu Temple can be done by city buses, Keihan trains, taxis, and more.

You can use your private car, but during the autumn foliage season, the roads are congested, and finding parking space at tourist sites can be challenging.

During the autumn foliage season, many customers mentioned that they enjoyed Kyoto sightseeing more by avoiding traffic jams and waiting times.

For this reason, using public transportation is recommended during the season.

Access to Kiyomizu Temple by City Bus

If you choose to use the city bus, you can take either the 206 series (from Bus Stop A3, heading to [Higashiyama-dori/Kita-oji Bus Terminal]) or the 100 series (from Bus Stop D1, heading to [Kiyomizu/Gion/Ginkaku-ji]). They run approximately every 10 minutes from Kyoto Station. Get off at either “Kiyomizu-michi” or “Gozan-saka” and it’s about a 15-minute walk from there.

If you’re coming from Kawaramachi, you can take the city bus 207 series and get off at “Kiyomizu-michi” or “Gozan-saka,” just like from Kyoto Station, and walk from there.

If you prefer taking the train, you can get off at “Keihan Gojo” station, but it will take approximately 30 to 40 minutes on foot from there.

To take the Keihan train, if you’re coming from Kyoto Station, you’ll first need to take the JR Nara Line and get off at “Tofuku-ji” station. From there, you’ll need to transfer to the Keihan train at “Tofuku-ji” station. Alternatively, you can also walk from “Keihan Shijo” station, passing through Yasaka Shrine, Ninen-zaka, and Sannen-zaka.

Regardless of which route you choose, it’s essential to consider that time can be unpredictable during autumn in Kyoto.

Of course, the Kiyomizu Temple grounds will also be significantly crowded compared to usual, so it’s advisable to leave with some extra time in hand.

Rikawafuku Kimono Kiyomizu Temple Store is located approximately a 6-minute walk from the city bus stop “Kiyomizu-michi.”

Kimono Rental During Autumn Foliage Season at Kiyomizu Temple

Why not rent a kimono for your autumn foliage viewing? The vibrant red, yellow, and orange hues of the foliage are so vivid and beautiful. Kimono is a perfect choice for such a picturesque autumn!

Kimono can enhance the splendor of the autumn colors with a touch of elegance.

If you feel that the chosen kimono color is a bit understated, you can add a touch of the vibrant colors seen in the foliage as accents in your accessories, obi, or kimono pattern, creating a harmonious and complementary combination.
