I tried renting kimonos and wearing matching outfits with my best friend in Kyoto✨

Hello! This is Rikawafuku Arashiyama Store
This time, we toured Kyoto’s Arashiyama wearing chiffon kimonos in different colors!

We took purikura (photo booth pictures), visited a stylish café, and took lots of photos together… 💭
Please use this as inspiration for enjoying kimono rental with friends 🫶

Chiffon Kimonos with a Lovely Fabric Texture

This time’s kimono was the chiffon kimono ✨️
The soft fabric gives a mature and elegant impression, making it a popular choice!
With a wide range of colors available, it’s perfect for doing matching outfits with friends.
Please be sure to look for one together in-store‎ 🤍

The highlight of this kimono coordination was adding two “tulle” accessories! (An extra 500 yen each)
Crossing the tulle when wearing it is the recent trend, and the combination of glitter tulle with white tulle is especially popular 👍

We chose the Kyoto Kimono Student Discount Plan!
By showing your student ID, you can rent for 1,000 yen less than the regular Kyoto Kimono Hair Set Plan.

There’s also the Kyoto School Trip Kimono Rental Plan for groups of three or more students, available for both men and women at just 3,500 yen (tax included) — very affordable!

Perfect for Girls’ Trips! Lunch at the Stylish Café “Sagano-yu”

Rika Kimono rental experience

Feeling hungry, we decided to have lunch at a café just a 3-minute walk from the store 🍽
“Sagano-yu” ✨️ is an Instagrammable café with a white-themed interior and many photogenic menu items.
Interestingly, the name contains the word “yu” (bath) because the café was renovated from a public bathhouse 💭

The signature dish is tofu pasta‎ 🤍
If you rent a kimono in Arashiyama and want to take a short break, definitely check it out 🤭

We Took Purikura At the End of the Day! 📸✨️

Rika Kimono rental experience

If you’re wearing a kimono, taking purikura is a must!
In fact, there’s only one place in Arashiyama where you can take purikura — “Studio zyupan” 🥲
If you have specific preferences for the purikura machine type, you can head to Kyoto Station or Kawaramachi Station.
Make sure to take some commemorative shots with your friends while in kimono 💕
