What to Consider When Using the Kyoto Kimono Rental Student Discount Plan
Don't Forget Your Student ID
When you check-in, you'll need to present your student ID or commuter pass as proof of student status. Don't forget it, as it's required to take advantage of the student discount plan during your Kyoto trip!
Pre-Reserve the Student Discount Plan in Advance
Depending on the time of year, there may be heavy crowds during the long breaks for students. If you're considering using the Kyoto Kimono Rental Student Discount Plan during summer or spring breaks, it's highly recommended to make reservations in advance. Especially during the spring break, when cherry blossoms are in full bloom, it can get very crowded, so caution is advised.
Be Cautious of Suspicious Approaches to Students Wearing Kimonos
In Kyoto, there have been reports of suspicious individuals approaching women wearing kimonos and offering to take their photos. After taking a photo, they may request contact information to send the photos, and in some cases, they can be overly insistent. While such situations can be surprising, it's essential to firmly decline such requests. This is more common in areas like Gion and Kiyomizu-dera, so please be cautious.
Beware of Bus Delays Due to Traffic in Kyoto; Be Punctual for Returns!
The city buses in Kyoto are often delayed, especially in the late afternoon due to traffic. Even if you allow some extra time for your return, you may still be late due to delays. It's advisable to plan your return with some extra buffer time to avoid any inconveniences.
