When you think of Koedo Kawagoe, you might imagine old traditional streets — but did you know that some Western-style buildings have survived to this day? ✨
This particular building is actually registered as a cultural property!
It’s the oldest Western-style building in Kawagoe, built in 1915 (Taisho 4).
It truly feels like stepping back in time 🎩
On the second floor, you’ll find paintings of buildings in Kawagoe.
From the tables and chairs to the lighting, everything seems to perfectly capture the atmosphere of the Taisho era 📚✒️
Sweets made with Kawagoe’s specialty sweet potatoes
A classic favorite, the “Homemade Sweet Potato Pudding,” is crafted by the chef from the neighboring sister restaurant “Wasousai to Shiki no Sushi Fuurin” 🍠❤️
